In 2017, Comparative Politics received 259 manuscripts, of which 73 percent were sent to external peer readers for review and 27 percent were rejected in-house. The average time of the review process, from submission to decision, was 61 days.

The Editorial Committee accepted for publication 12 percent of submissions and invited resubmissions of revised manuscripts for another round of external peer review of another 10 percent of submissions.
